Reaching Trieste:

Trieste is a seaport in northeastern Italy, situated at the end of a narrow strip of Italian territory lying between the Adriatic  Sea and the coast of Slovenia and Croatia, just an hour and a half drive east of Venice.

Trieste has its own airport (TRS) with daily connections to International airports like Rome (FCO) and Munich (MUC) . Trieste Airport is connected to the city by train service, taking around 30 minutes for the trip, or by Trieste Airport Bus E51 

In just over one hour by train or bus from Trieste, you can also reach Venice International Airport (VCE), Treviso Airport (TSF) and Ljubljana-Brnik airport (LJU).


Reaching the ICTP/SISSA Campus from the city center. 

ICTP/SISSA Campus is easily reachable from the city center through the summer months through line 6 (Piazzale Gioberti - Grignano), with bus passing every fifteen minutes during daytime. Timetables are available on the local transit website, Trieste Trasporti; be sure to check the summer timetable.

Bus tickets can be bought at newsstands, Bar/Tobacconists (look for T sign outside), at the automatic tickets machine that are available at some bus stops, or by using the regional trasportation app ( TPL FVG, available on android or iOS ). You cannot purchase tickets directly on the bus.
