Introduction

Welcome to the annual meeting of the RadioForegroundsPlus Project

RadioForegroundsPlus is a European research network dedicated to “unveiling the complexity” of radio and microwave foreground emissions, focusing in polarization, which constitute the dominant systematic limitation for precision cosmology and future CMB experiments. The project coherently combines the nine all-sky frequency channels of Planck (30–857 GHz) with unique low-frequency datasets, including QUIJOTE (11–19 GHz), C-BASS (5 GHz), and S-PASS (2.3 GHz), to achieve an unprecedented physical and spectral characterization of foregrounds in both polarization and intensity. RadioForegroundsPlus delivers advanced models, maps, and analysis tools to the community, supporting robust component separation and contamination mitigation. The project is funded by the European Union under grant agreement No. 101135036 (2024–2026).

Purpose

The Annual RadioForegroundsPlus Meeting will bring together all network partners to review scientific progress, consolidate methodological developments, and coordinate the final phase of project activities. Working sessions will take place on April 13, 14, 16, and 17, focusing on data analysis, component separation strategies, cross-experiment synergies, and upcoming deliverables. April 15 will be dedicated to the formal presentation of project achievements and milestones to the H2020 Project Representative, providing a comprehensive assessment of progress and outlining the strategic roadmap for the final segment of work scheduled for the remainder of 2026.

Organization

The meeting is organized by the entire RadioForegrounds Network of collaborators, led by Belen Barreiro from the Insitute of Physics of Cantabria. The CMB group at SISSA, composed by Carlo Baccigalupi, Alessandro Carones, Florie Carralot, Sandeep Balakrishna Haridasu, Sijil Jose,  Nicoletta Krachmalnicoff, Davide Luchina, Aliza Mustafa, Claudio Ranucci, Athul Kuruvai Parambil Soman,  is the Local Organizing Committee.

Public material will be available at this website. The meeting will also collect communications for internal use on the wiki page of the project

On thursday, an open Science Meeting will take place. Zoom connection at this link will be available.

Venue

The meeting will take place at the Institute for Fundamental Physics of the Universe in the SISSA Campus in Via Beirut in Trieste, close to the International Center for Theoretical Physics

Social Events

The Social Dinner will be at a restaurant in the downtown, on April 15th, at 8pm, and details shall be communicated at the meeting.
