How to reach Trieste
The easiest ways to reach Trieste are by train or by plane.
By train: there are cheap regional trains departing from Venice S.Lucia/Mestre multiple times a day and arriving at Trieste Centrale. Venice S.Lucia/Mestre can be reached by high-speed trains from most Italian cities.
By plane: the closest airports to Trieste are Trieste Airport and Venice Marco Polo Airport. From there, you can take either a regional train or a Flixbus to Trieste Centrale.
Your accommodation will be a 10 minutes walk away from the train station.
Train tickets can be purchased from the Trenitalia app.
How to reach SISSA
SISSA is reachable by bus 38, which departs from piazza Oberdan. SISSA is the last stop. The trip takes around 15 minutes.

Bus tickets can be purchased:
- from the app Tpl Fvg (activate them with the QR code on the bus)
- in a tobacconist's shop, from a newspaper seller or using ticket vending machines at bus stops
- on the bus, using a credit card (hold your credit card against the validating machines on board the bus)
At SISSA, bus tickets can be purchased at the ticket vending machine near the bus stop.
