Description

An IFPU Focus Week Program

Goal

We aim at bringing together the community of scientists working on the forthcoming CMB probes, at a time where the "heir" of Planck, the JAXA lead LiteBIRD satellite, has just been selected. Our primary goal is to bring together a small community working on astrophysics, astroparticle, cosmology and particle physics to discuss, together with leading CMB analysis experts, the opportunities offered by the new landscape of experiments, as well as by the Planck legacy. The focus will be on fundamental physics with CMB observations, to exploit the potential for new physics constraints. The idea is to balance theoretical perspectives with analysis expertise, to foster collaboration with a well-grounded view of what could be achieved from forthcoming and available, public domain data.

Organization

The meeting is hosted and supported by the newly born Institute for Fundamental Physics of the Universe (www.ifpu.it), supported jointly by ICTP, INAF, INFN and SISSA. The institute is equipped with seminar rooms, meeting rooms, and offices that will be assigned to participants during their stay. There is no need to stay for the whole duration of the meeting. Support is available (62.5 €/day for guests from Italy, and 71 €/day for foreigners) for participants, plus the accomodation at the Adriatico Guest House in Grignano, in a very nice location in front of the sea and close to the Institute (https://www.ictp.it/visit-ictp/accommodation/guesthouses.aspx), which will be pre-paid. A schedule with Brainstorming, Discussions and Seminars will be created on the basis of availability of participants. Attendance will be limited by the availability of office spaces at the IFPU,  and we encourage participants to register as soon as possible.
